_The digital publishing industry continues to experience exponential growth in tablet and mobile technologies, bringing several new strategies to the table for university communications staff and alumni magazine editors to consider. Most everybody is sold on the idea that mobile publishing must be part of the overall communications plan. With so many options for mobile and app based magazines, it's hard to nail down the right fit to yield the best investment return while maximizing your ability to optimize reader engagement among your alumni, student, faculty and leadership community.
Happy belated New Year everyone! Many of you have asked about a text view feature to be made available in the mobile iOS app and we're happy to report that we've been hard at work in the GradMags lab steadily working on completing this feature. This feature will allow both iPhone or iPad users to tap a text icon to pull in the text only view from any article in a digital edition. This is especially useful for iPhone users who don't have the luxury of all the "real estate" available on a larger iPad footprint to scroll and view content. This feature will also allow users to email the full text of an article to friends and share article specific content on social media sites directly from the app. Best of all....ALL GradMags clients will get this new feature added to their app free of charge! Stay tuned for more.
